OUR APPROACH TO HEALTH AND SAFETY

To achieve our goals and maintain a safe working environment, we have implemented the following robust measures:

Comprehensive Training: We ensure that all our staff are appropriately trained and equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate safely on-site. This includes mandatory health and safety training that is regularly updated to reflect the latest regulations and best practices.
CSCS Certification: All our operators are required to hold valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards. This ensures that only qualified personnel are engaged in our projects, further reinforcing a safe and compliant working environment.
Pre-Construction Safety Planning: Safety starts long before we break ground. We undertake detailed risk assessments and safety planning during the pre-construction phase, ensuring that all potential hazards are identified and effectively managed from the outset.
Regular Site Safety Tours and Inspections: Our commitment to safety continues throughout the duration of each project. We conduct regular site safety tours and inspections to monitor compliance, identify any emerging risks, and ensure that our safety standards are consistently met.
Collaboration with Our Supply Chain: We understand the importance of close collaboration with our supply chain partners. By engaging more closely with suppliers and subcontractors, we ensure that everyone involved in the project shares our commitment to safety and follows our rigorous health and safety protocols.
Standard Operating Procedures: We implement clear and effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on all projects as a minimum standard. These procedures ensure consistency in safety practices across every site, reinforcing our commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

In addition to ensuring that all our operatives hold valid CSCS cards and receive comprehensive health and safety training, we also require that all team members are DBS cleared. This added layer of security is especially important for projects in sensitive environments such as schools, healthcare facilities, and charities, ensuring the highest levels of trust and safety for everyone.

Mark Horsman

Mark Horsman, Managing Director of HC3 Ltd s is a Quantity Surveyor by trade, having worked all over the UK managing the building of gas-fired power stations.

In 2000 Mark with a young family and with work taking him further away from home for longer periods of time decided to follow his passion and set up a Housing Development company, which entailed successfully buying land, building houses and then selling them.

In 2013 the Company noted a gap in the market and moved towards commercial construction gaining a large client base within the education sector. As the company grew it became more involved in larger commercial projects in particular within the medical sector.

When not working, Mark enjoys a passion for motorsport as well as supporting his son who is a passionate junior tennis player. Mark enjoys long family walks with his wife Anne-Marie and their two cockapoos, Hollie and Alfie making the most of the beautiful countryside where he lives.

Alexandra Kowalczuk

Alex brings to the Team HC3 Ltd table an abundance of energy, drive and positivity, in addition to the many client relationships she has established during her long career.

Before joining the world of construction 12 years ago, Alex headed up a number of Local Government departments which included organising Royal Visits and high-profile events, together with running the offices of Civic Dignitaries and Elected Members.

When Alex is not out and about networking at various events and meeting with clients, you will find her enjoying cycling around the countryside. Alex has a passion for travel and enjoys spending time researching and visiting other countries. When Alex is not travelling with her husband, Dan, she loves spending time entertaining and cooking for family and friends and spoiling her two teenage nephews, Samuel and Jacob.
